Victim or Hero...

Lately I've come to realise that there are  two types of mentalities -  Hero or Victim.

Hero mentality - you decide to rise above your issues and allow them to mould you and grow you into someone stronger than before.

Victim mentality - you keep holding on to things of the past, those who have wronged you and keep playing the "poor me" card.

We have a choice every day which mentality we choose to live in and with.

Everyone has a different back story, different life experiences and I'm not disregarding or diminishing anyones story, but there comes a time when you decided to  use those bad life experiences to help you become stronger.

I'm not dismissing the fact at all that some people have worse pasts than others, however you do have a choice to let it define you or refine you.

As a Christian, we are a new creation  - 2 Corinthians 5:17   Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!

Therefore we have a choice every day  to choose to hold on to  what has happened in the past or to use it to be come stronger.

It took me many years of playing the victim until I realised it was affecting all of my relationships and hindering me from growing stronger into who God has called me to be.

Story Time -
I was bullied all through primary school, all through high school, and even in my adult life and still even now.
I have suffered from depression since I was 15, I attempted suicide but then I realised that enough was enough. I couldn't keep going the way I was going.

It was with the help of an amazing couple of friends who helped me through these hard times.

I came to the realisation that the way I was living and the fact that I wasn't taking responsibility  for my actions because I was so use to being abused, hurt, walked over, put down.

- As an adult, there come a point in your life where you need to stop playing the victim and take control of your actions and reactions.

Which will you choose?

I guarantee that if you do this you will feel freedom and you will grow stronger as a person.

Photos, as promised

Hey all,

a while ago I posted I was going a photoshoot with a friend.

Here are the photos

It was very cold and raining a fair bit but it was such fun

Thanks again Timmy for the photos

long post

My goodness, it's been such a long time since I've posted on here.

Well, last year was full of many highs and lows for me. The end of a season in one job and the start of a new season in another job, graduation of my college degree and many more things have happened.

Now it's a new year and I'm feeling pretty refreshed, aside from being off work sick the last few days.

I'm quite excited to see what will happen this year.

My goals are: 1) grow my relationship with God more
                       2) work hard in this job
                       3) get my health in check - this includes exercise and dietary needs
                       4) get my singing voice back to what it one was
                       5) save money and also get a new car

 All of which are achievable.

So lets get this conversation started, what do you hope to achieve this year?

Hi all!

Well, my its been a long time since I've written on here.

I've almost finished my college degree - after 3 years.

Am more involved in church now also, on the band, running events for the Young Adult Ladies and being a Young Adults Leader.

Last weekend the gals and I went to Emundi Markets on the Sunny Coast, then went to Mooloolaba for lunch and went and saw Aloha - the movie was pretty average but good acting.

Things are pretty busy right now.

Tomorrow I have a photo shoot with my friend Tim to help support his business :) i will put up a few shots on here.

Tomorrow night I will put up some pics.

Napoleon Perdis Product Review

Hi ladies!

A while ago my dear friend Aleasha asked me to review some products :D (sorry this is so late)

The products I am review are the Napoleon Perdis Enhancer Pen and  a Lip Liner in the shade Plum Role.

The Enhancer pen retails at $26.00 Australian. It is a nice creamy consistency and a little goes a long way. I found that it is a multi-purpose product, not only can you use it to highlight your cheek-bones, you can also wear it on your lips as a nice Nude colour or on your eyelids as a cream shadow.  It has a nice subtle shimmer to it also, it's not overbearing.
I highly recommend this product.

The Plum Role Lip Liner Pencil is a beautiful rich plum colour which is great for these winter months. It retails at $28.00 Australian.  I found this very easy to apply and also found it to be long wearing. It is a nice firm but slightly creamy consistency (no too hard it hurts when you apply it to your lips) I absolutely love this colour and will be wearing it more during this winter! Also highly recommend this product!

You can find these and other Napoleon Perdis products at participating chemists along with your local Napoleon Perdis Counter or Store.
